Win $500 in The Summer Photo & Video Contest!

Rules:

1. Photos and videos must be uploaded directly to the WeNeedaVacation.com website. Entries by email or mail will not be accepted.
2. Entries will be accepted only if they meet the following criteria:
   1. They must be taken on Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard, or Nantucket (including the Off Cape towns listed on WeNeedaVacation.com), or anywhere in Florida.
   2. You may be a vacationer, homeowner, or resident of these areas.
   3. Submit a photo that reflects the beauty, charm, or uniqueness of the towns you visit on your vacation. Need examples? You might take a picture of a fabulous footbridge to the beach, kayaking on a pond, low tide at a bay beach, a great blue heron on the marsh, a windmill, a sailboat at sunset, a busy fishing pier, or an outdoor band concert. Use your imagination!
   4. Or, submit a video that captures the essence and emotion of the towns you visit during your vacation experience. Your video could combine several scenes or events or simply focus on one. Need examples? You might video a whale watch excursion, a Fourth of July parade, kayakers paddling along an inland waterway, an osprey building a nest, or children playing in a tide pool at a bay beach. Use your imagination! (Videos may include digital photos, too.)
   5. Or, submit both.
   6. You must be at least 25 years of age to submit an entry. Persons of any age may take the photos or videos.
   7. You or someone in your vacation party must take the entry. They may not come from publicly or commercially available sources.
   8. They must be appropriate for a broad, family-based audience.
   9. Your entry must include your name, email address, location of photo or video, and address of vacation residence. Only your first name and the location of photo or video will be published on our website.
   10. You may submit multiple photos or videos. Each contestent may submit up to 10 of each entry type.
   11. You agree that WeNeedaVacation.com may use your entries in any future marketing efforts without attribution.
   12. You must agree to these Terms and Conditions.
3. Space will be provided for optional captions.
4. Entries may be made between July 1 and September 1, 2008 (Labor Day).
5. All photos and videos become the sole property of WeNeedaVacation.com.
6. WeNeedaVacation.com reserves the right to decline any photo deemed inappropriate.

Awards:

1. By September 8, 2008, the WeNeedaVacation.com staff will choose five or more photo and video finalists. (The 2007 photo entries were so good, we chose 25 finalists.)
2. The finalists' photos and videos will be posted on the website.
3. Two $500 Grand Prize Winners will be chosen by the voting public, one for the best photo and one for the best video. Voters may be comprised of the following:
   1. All WeNeedaVacation.com vacationers
   2. All WeNeedaVacation.com homeowners
   3. All participants of The Summer Photo & Video Contest
   4. Any friends referred by a, b or c.
4. When the voting begins, all eligible voters will be notified via email.
5. The voting period will last for two weeks.
6. Each voter may vote for only one photo AND one video.
7. The top vote-getters will be announced in mid-September. The winners may ask us not to disclose their last name.
8. The $500 Grand Prize voucher will be awarded to the winner when s/he presents a signed lease for a vacation rental found on WeNeedaVacation.com after the conclusion of the contest. To be eligible, the home must be active on WeNeedaVacation.com sometime after September 1, 2008.
9. The Grand Prize vouchers may not exceed the rental amount to which it is applied.

Support a good cause:

The Association to Preserve Cape Cod (APCC) is "Cape Cod's leading environmental educator, advocate and watchdog organization." For each accepted entry, WeNeedaVacation.com will donate $5 to the APCC, up to $1,000. For more information on the organization, please visit apcc.org.
